A few minutes away is its sister hotel, Gilpin Lake House, – a more traditional 6 bedroom boutique hotel, with its own lakeside ‘Jetty‘ Spa facilities, and home to Gilpin’s two delightful restaurants.

Depending on where you’re staying – Lake House or Hotel – there are different spa options. If you’re lucky enough to be in one of the Spa Suite or Lodges, the hot tub and other spa facilities come with the territory.
The Jetty Spa is part of the Lake House and exclusively available to Gilpin guests. The Spa offers its unique Spa Trail – a fabulous tour of its collection of spa and relaxation facilities, nestled around the hotel and its charming little lake. These include: indoor pool, sauna, steam room, outdoor hot tub, scandi-style couples’ treatment suite and the romantic Boat House. Most-suited to couples, or at least very close friends, it’s a spa nature trail with indulgent stop-offs for relaxion, refreshments, romance and gourmet delights. The journey includes a spa treatment in the stylish glass-fronted spa cabin, with a choice of either a tailored aromatherapy massage or one with warm lava shells. Aromatherapy oils are mixed in-house and blended to meet your needs on the day and you’re left feeling pampered and privileged.

The hotel has 28 bedrooms, with two restaurants, a champagne bar and the luxury Spa Lodges. If it’s spa action you’re after, then the detached Spa Suites and Lodges are for you:
5 Spa Lodges – detached luxury lodges with a convertible treatment area, steam room, rain shower, free-standing bath, and walled garden with outdoor sauna and hydrotherapy hot tub. The gardens are private and have stunning views out over the grounds to the moors beyond.
3 Spa Suites – with your own private in-house spa – with steam room, sauna, infra-red lounge bed, and a fun massage chair. The ultimate in private pampering and popular with honeymooners and returning chill-seekers alike.
The Spa Lodges and Suites are delightfully spacious and make you feel like you’ve just stepped into something off Grand Designs. Open-plan, and with floor to ceiling windows, they bring the outside-in, and the interiors’ contemporary aesthetic immediately adds to the feeling of luxurious calm with natural materials and botanicals.
Bathrooms are spacious too, with room-for-two stone baths and double walk-in showers. There’s a well-stocked wine fridge in each suite and the spaces are equally suited to cosying up with the log burner in winter or throwing open the doors for some star gazing on a hot summer’s night.

Sometimes spas can be so wrapped up in their saunas and steam rooms that the food can appear a bit of an afterthought, but the Gilpin performs equally fabulously on the foodie front.
There are two dining options: the relaxed Gilpin Spice, serving pan-Asian delights inspired by the Spice Trail, and the Michelin starred HRiSHi, celebrating Cumbrian cuisine and serving modern British creations with a twist.

The suites are eminently instagrammable so bring your coolest cozzy – in fact bring a couple as you’ll want to be in and out of the hot tub all day long and no-one likes donning soggy swimmers.
